Founded in 1804, Hebron Academy is a small, independent, college preparatory boarding and day school for boys and girls in grades 8 through 12. At Hebron, humanity and achievement ring true. Students from across the United States and around the world are challenged and inspired to reach their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit through small classes, knowledgeable and caring teachers who provide individual attention, and a friendly, respectful, family atmosphere.
Hebron Academy celebrates diversity and welcomes international students from all over the world. Our community currently includes teenagers from Korea, Brazil, China, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Ukraine, Germany, Japan, The Bahamas, and Sweden. Students choose Hebron Academy because we provide a balance of challenging academics, competitive athletics, fine and performing arts, a strong sense of community, and individualized attention for college placement.
Hebron Academy offers honors and advanced placement fine arts curriculum. In addition to being a co-curricular activity, music also forms the core of Hebron’s academic Fine Arts program. Performances on Hebron’s stage integrate life, literacy, learning, and community, and celebrate the strong character development that is a hallmark of Hebron’s educational experience. Young actors and actresses learn poise, confidence, and other public speaking skills they will draw on throughout their lives. By exploring different roles and personalities, they most often find within themselves something that can only be discovered through a dramatic performance. Students working backstage develop knowledge of construction, design, and artistic techniques, or learn stage management and production skills.
At Hebron Academy, the pursuit of academic excellence finds its corollary in the pursuit of athletic excellence, and participation in organized sports forms an integral part of every student’s Hebron experience. The school’s athletic programs are devoted to encouraging a lifelong love of physical activity and an appreciation for teamwork and fair play.
Hebron Academy’s English Language Summer Institute (ELSI) extends the school’s mission statement of “Hebron Academy inspires and guides students to reach their highest potential in mind, body, and spirit” beyond the school year for non-native English speakers.
The English as a Second Language Program at Hebron Academy integrates listening, speaking, reading and writing. Cultural heritage and previous language experience of the international students are celebrated as resources in our multidimensional and diverse program.
